Restorative Yoga for Dog People

In this crash course for relieving anxiety and stress through movement and holistic tools, we’ll explore the crossover between the layers and habits we use to calm ourselves and those we can use to help calm our dogs. We’ll also come to our mats for a juicy, restorative, stretchy practice to relieve any stress held in our bodies, and talk about how bodywork can help relieve stress & trauma for our pups, too.

  • How to create a “Zen Den” for both you & your dog, especially during times of stress
  • Overview of the basic tools for helping your dog combat stress and trauma responses
  • Slow, supportive, resilience-building, grounded yoga practice with your dog
  • How to use props to relieve overused muscle groups from our daily life with dogs
  • How to support your dog so they know you’ve always got their back
  • Attunement and body scanning exercises to calm anxiety
  • Community Circle for sharing, teacher Q&A, and troubleshooting

The beauty of doing this practice in your own home is that it is open to anyone of any experience and ability, including our sensitive, shy, and reactive dogs who may not have ever been comfortable in an in-person group training session with other dogs.

Class sizes will be kept small (10 or fewer dog & handler teams per class) so that we can create community for ongoing support and a more inviting space for sharing. We are passionate about our mission of intersectionality and diversity: BIPOC and foster families always attend for free!
